Montreal Style vs me

hey... third day in Laval. can't leave my room because I have no key... Oh well! I went shopping with my cousin in downtown Mtl where all the shopping centers are related to each other (very practical in the winter). I was standing near the Cours Mont-Royal entrance and I was watching people come and go and realized that a lot of them would rather be well dressed that to be well protected. Don't get me wrong, I know you can be fashionable and warm at the same time. BUT for me, I was wearing a ski jacket from Roxy, winter scandinavian style boots and my Tokidoki hat and purse. I look at them and than at me and I wonder... Am I still fashionable. In Sherbrooke, I think everybody dresses for winter, because it's cold. We bundle up and we face winter like it is, COLD. We get the occasionnal person who tries to think it's still fall. and those private high school girls in skirts with a sugar fix. For example, there was one girl who had a melon hat, but tell me, does it protect you from the wind and snow? Sure you must take the metro, but you still have to go outside and walk. And the people who wear sneakers in winter???? Snow will render your shoes when and disgusting. Plus you will maybe catch a cold. It also seems that for boy, this rule dosen't apply. Men hate winter boots. so it seems... Sometime, when it's minus 30 plus wind, leave your fashion at home or play with hats and scarves, but don't make your body pay. Yes it sucks walking with the winfd in your face with any hat, but a tuque will keep your head warmer than a baseball cap.
