Today I went for the first time to the Jean-Talon Market. It's a farmers market with pastries, see=a food and other shop. I had to go there because there was a store that had vanilla paste (really strong stuff, it replaces the vanilla bean in a recipe) And at the same time, indulge in Première Moisson, a famous bakery/pastry shop in MTL.
First some homemade coffee, yes you were good
Then off to the Metro!
Jean-Talon market is huge and packed!!! But the experience is cool. We have a small farmers market in sherbrooke, so see this one was amazing. Walked around a bit and passed in front of fruit stand with samples. God the stuff was fresh! The tomatos and strawberries were so lucious!
Finally found Première Moisson after 20 minutes :p Inside there is so mch people! But I understand, the choice is amazing! I bought a croissant pur butter, a danois (rasberry croissant with amonds, a chocolat éclair and a chocolatine (croissant with chocolat) All for 10 $. The chocolatine was good, you can taste the butter, but there was not alot of chocolat.
So after walking around, I decided, what the hell, let's go to Chinatown! and get MORE PASTRIES!!!
First stop Callia, looked around for something new and notice that they changed their prices on some items, like coconut buns from 1$ to 1.80 $. I settled for a coconut and custard bun and a chicken bun for lunch. Another quick walk and go to Légend pastries. They have some of the same thing that Callia has, but also other selection. The prices are about the same, but I think Callia is still cheaper. I took a cinnamon roll, a custard bun, a seasame ball and a egg pie that everybody seems to want.
The sesame bun was really good, it has chocolat inside, but it's really oily! In all, i'm happy, i have breakfast for a few weeks :)
